ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Integrated water resources management

Integrated water resources management, also known as IWRM, is all about making sure we use water in a smart way. Water is super important for people, animals, and plants to live and grow, but sometimes there isn't enough water for everyone to use. That's where IWRM comes in.

Imagine you have a big pizza that you want to share with your friends. You have to make sure everyone gets a fair slice – not too much and not too little. That's just like water. With IWRM, we try to make sure that different people and things that need water – like farms, cities, and wildlife – all get a fair amount of water to use.

IWRM also helps us plan for the future. We can't just use up all the water now and not leave any for tomorrow. We have to think about how much water there is and how much we need to use. So IWRM encourages us to be smart with our water use and to find ways to conserve water.

Overall, IWRM is about making sure we share water fairly and use it wisely, so that we can all enjoy clean water for now and in the future.
