Intensive and extensive properties

Intensive properties do not depend on the amount of material you have and stay the same no matter the size of the sample. Examples of intensive properties would be temperature, hardness and density.

Extensive properties depend on the amount of material you have. Examples of extensive properties would be mass, volume and length.
