International Anarchist Congress of Amsterdam

Well, imagine you are playing with your friends and you all have different ideas on how to play the game. One wants to be the leader, another wants to make all the rules, and some don't want any rules at all! This can make things confusing and sometimes cause arguments.

Now, imagine this on a much larger scale, with many different groups of people all over the world who share similar ideas about not liking any type of authority or government. They are called anarchists.

In 1907, many of these anarchists from all over Europe and other parts of the world gathered together in the city of Amsterdam to have a big meeting called the International Anarchist Congress. Here, they would talk about their beliefs and how they can work together to make their ideas known to the world.

They talked about many different topics, like how to promote their ideas without using violence, how to help workers get better rights, and how to build communities that did not rely on governments. They even made a statement called the Manifesto of the International Anarchist Congress, which outlined their beliefs and goals.

While not everyone agreed on everything, they were able to come together and discuss their ideas peacefully. And even though the Congress did not achieve all its goals, it was an important step for anarchists to work together and make their voices heard.
