International Day Against Police Brutality

Okay kiddo, so the International Day Against Police Brutality is a special day where people all around the world talk about and raise awareness about a very important issue - which is that sometimes police officers can use too much force when they try to control a situation or arrest someone.

Now, police officers have a really important job - they need to protect people and make sure everyone is following the law. And most of the time they do a great job at that! But sometimes they might not use the right amount of force or they might hurt someone when they didn't need to. That's what we call police brutality.

And that's why on this day, people want to talk about ways we can hold police officers accountable when they do things that are not okay. It's also a day where people can come together to talk about ways we can improve the relationship between police officers and the communities they work in.

It's important to remember that police officers are regular people just like you and me, and they have a tough job. But we also need to make sure they are using their power in the right way and treating everyone with respect and fairness.
