International day for the abolition of slavery is to remember and celebrate that slavery is not okay. It is a day to also remind us that slavery still continues in some parts of the world and to think of ways we can help make sure everyone is free. On this day, many people around the world come together to remember the people who were affected by slavery in the past and show support for everyone around the world who is still affected by it today.
