International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation

Okay, kiddo. There's a special day called the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation, and it's all about keeping girls and women safe from a kind of harm that some people in other parts of the world might do to them.

See, in some places, there are grown-ups who believe that girls and women should have some parts of their private parts cut off, and that's called Female Genital Mutilation. But it's really not a good thing to do, because it can hurt them really bad and make it hard to go to the bathroom, have babies, or enjoy intimacy when they grow up.

So, every year, on February 6th, people all over the world get together to talk about why Female Genital Mutilation is bad and to try to stop it from happening. They want to make sure that girls and women everywhere are treated with respect and get to make choices about their own bodies. And that's something we can all be happy about!
