International Image Interoperability Framework

International Image Interoperability Framework (IIIF) is a way of sharing pictures around the world, so that they can be seen by everyone. It allows anyone to access digital images from any computer or device, no matter where they are located. To do this, IIIF provides a standard set of tools, rules and processes for sharing images and the metadata about them (data about the image, like the date it was taken or who took it). IIIF makes it easier for museums, libraries, and other digital image sources to collaborate by allowing everyone to use the same standards to share images. This means everyone can share the same images in the same way, no matter where they are.
