International Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Seismology

The International Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Seismology (or IIEES) is an organization that works to help protect people and buildings from earthquakes. They do this by learning about how earthquakes work and how to predict when and where they might happen. This helps people to prepare for earthquakes and make sure buildings are built in the safest way possible. IIEES also designs safe structures to help buildings survive an earthquake, so people and buildings don’t have to suffer as much damage.
