ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

International Waste Working Group – IWWG

Imagine you have some toys that you don't need anymore and you want to throw them away. However, you know that some of the toys are made of materials that are not safe for the environment, like plastic or batteries. You also know that throwing them in the trash can harm the Earth, so you try to find a better way to get rid of them.

Now imagine that many countries face the same problem. They want to dispose of waste properly, but they don't know how, or they don't have the resources to do it safely. That's where the International Waste Working Group (IWWG) comes in.

The IWWG is a group of experts from around the world who work together to find solutions for managing waste in a way that is safe for people and the environment. They spend a lot of time researching and discussing different methods of waste management, and they also work to raise awareness of the importance of proper waste disposal.

For example, they might suggest ways to recycle materials like paper and glass or find safe ways to dispose of hazardous waste. By sharing their knowledge and experience, the IWWG hopes to help countries around the world manage their waste more effectively and protect the planet.
