ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

International availability of McDonald's products

Okay kiddo, so you know how McDonald's is a popular fast-food restaurant that you love to go to with your family, right? Well, McDonald's has restaurants all over the world! Now, because people in different countries have different tastes and like different foods, McDonald's menus can be a little different depending on where you are.

For example, in some countries like Japan, you can get a burger with a patty made of shrimp instead of beef! And in India, McDonald's doesn't sell any beef or pork products because some people there don't eat those kinds of meat. Instead, they have things like the McAloo Tikki burger, which is made with a spicy potato patty.

Now, sometimes people who travel to other countries might want to eat their favorite McDonald's foods from back home, right? So, McDonald's tries to make some of their most popular menu items available in as many countries as possible. That way, no matter where you are in the world, you can always get a taste of home.

But because of things like different food regulations and cultural differences, it's not always possible for McDonald's to offer the exact same menu everywhere. So, if you ever find yourself in a different country and want to try some McDonald's, keep an open mind! You might discover some new favorite foods that you never even knew existed.
