ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Internet in North Korea

The internet is like a giant playground where people all over the world can play together and share information. But in North Korea, it's like there's a big fence around their part of the playground and they can only play with a few friends who are allowed inside.

The government in North Korea tries to control everything people see and do on the internet. They want to make sure that people only see what they want them to see and don't get any ideas that might challenge their power. So, they limit the number of people who can use the internet, what websites they can visit, and what they can say online.

It's like if you were only allowed to play with one or two of your friends in the playground, and you could only go on the swings and not the slide. And if you said something that your parents or teachers didn't like, you might get in trouble or they might not let you play at all.

So, while the rest of the world can play and learn on the internet, the people in North Korea are stuck in a small corner of the playground with very limited playmates and activities.
