Intraventricular block

Okay kiddo, so imagine your heart is like a pump that pushes blood all around your body. But inside your heart, there are different rooms or chambers that it uses to pump the blood. One of these chambers is called a ventricle.

Sometimes, there can be a problem where the electricity that tells the heart muscle to pump doesn't flow properly through the ventricles. This is what we call an intraventricular block. It's like the signal is getting stuck or slowed down, so the ventricle can't pump blood as efficiently.

This can happen in a few different ways, depending on which ventricle is affected. Sometimes it's the left ventricle, which is really important because it pumps blood out to the rest of your body. Other times it's the right ventricle, which pumps blood to your lungs.

When this happens, doctors will often use special tests like an electrocardiogram to see what's going on and figure out the best way to help the heart pump normally again. Sometimes, medicines or a pacemaker can help fix the problem.
