An intrinsic metric is a type of measurement that helps you to understand how something works on its own, without comparing it to anything else. It looks at the inner workings of something and measures the quality of its parts and processes. In other words, an intrinsic metric helps you to measure how good something is on its own, rather than how it compares to something else.
