ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Investor relations

Investor relations is like being the teacher's helper for a big group of people who have given money to a company. These people are called investors. The company gives regular updates to the investors about how the business is doing, like showing them a report card.

Sometimes the investors are happy with the report card and they might give the company more money to help them grow even bigger. But other times, the investors might be worried about the report card and they might want to take their money out of the company.

The investor relations person helps the company talk to the investors and explain things in a way that everyone can understand. They might have meetings or send out letters or emails to keep everyone up to date.

Overall, the investor relations person helps keep things calm and make sure everyone knows what's going on with the company.
