Iran and weapons of mass destruction

Okay, so imagine there is a country called Iran. Some people are worried that Iran might be trying to make really, really dangerous weapons called Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD, for short). These weapons could hurt a lot of people and cause a lot of damage.

Now, Iran said that they are not making these dangerous weapons and are just trying to use nuclear technology for good things like making electricity. However, some people don't believe Iran and think they might be secretly making WMDs anyway.

All the other countries in the world are really worried about this because if Iran has these weapons it could be really dangerous for everyone. So, they made a deal with Iran. The deal was called the Iran nuclear deal or Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Under the deal, Iran agreed to limit their nuclear program and allow inspectors from other countries to check on them and make sure they're not secretly making weapons. In exchange, other countries agreed to lift some of the economic sanctions that were hurting Iran's economy.

But then in 2018, the United States pulled out of the deal and put back economic sanctions on Iran. This made Iran very upset and they said they might start making dangerous weapons again if the other countries don't do something to help them. This has made a lot of people worried about what might happen in the future.

In summary, some people are worried that Iran might be making really dangerous weapons called WMDs. Iran says they're not, but some countries don't believe them. Everyone made a deal to try to stop them from making these weapons, but then the United States backed out of the deal and Iran is upset.
