Iran–Saudi Arabia proxy conflict

The Iran-Saudi Arabia proxy conflict is when two countries, Iran and Saudi Arabia, support other countries in a fight against each other, but do not fight directly. This means that Iran will support one side of a conflict, and Saudi Arabia will support the other side, and then those two countries will fight each other, not Iran and Saudi Arabia. Think of it like two teams playing a game, but instead of playing the game, Iran and Saudi Arabia just cheer for their teams and don't actually play.
