ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Iraq Survey Group

So imagine your parents ask you to clean up your room. You start looking through your toys and clothes to see what needs to be put away. That's kind of like what the Iraq Survey Group did. But instead of cleaning up a room, they were trying to figure out what was going on in Iraq after a big war.

You see, a while back there was a big fight in Iraq called the Iraq War. Lots of people from different countries went there to fight. But after the war was over, people wanted to know if Iraq was doing okay. They wanted to know if they had any weapons that could hurt other countries or if there were any bad people there causing problems.

So the Iraq Survey Group was a special team of people who went to Iraq to look for clues. They looked at things like buildings, documents, and even talked to people who lived there. It was kind of like a big treasure hunt to find out what was going on.

And when they found something important, they would tell the leaders of different countries what they found. That way everyone could be informed and make good decisions about what to do next.

In the end, the Iraq Survey Group helped people understand what was happening in Iraq after the war. It was a really important job and they did it well.
