Ireland–NATO relations

Ireland–NATO relations are friendly. NATO is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and it is an international military alliance between 29 countries from North America and Europe. Ireland is part of this group, which means that the 29 countries have agreed to help each other if one of them is attacked by another country. Ireland and the other 28 countries have a commitment to promote peace and security in the region by working together. Ireland does not take part in any military operations but its relationship with NATO helps it to stay informed about threats and contributes to its security. Ireland also shares military information and helps with trainings, exercises, and other support. In short, Ireland helps NATO to keep the world safe, while NATO helps Ireland stay safe.
