Irish dance

Irish dance is a type of dancing that comes from Ireland, a country across the ocean from where we are. The people who do Irish dance often wear special costumes that are very pretty and full of bright colors. They also make a lot of noise when they dance because they wear special shoes that have hard bottoms, which they clap together to make sounds like tap-tap-tap.

When you watch an Irish dance, you might see the dancers standing very, very straight with their arms held at their sides. They move their feet really fast, sometimes so fast you can barely see them! They might even jump up and down or spin around in circles. Some Irish dances are done by just one person, while others have a whole team of dancers doing the same moves together.

The dances themselves often tell stories, like a special Irish fairy tale or legend. And sometimes the music that the dancers dance to is played by special Irish instruments like the fiddle or the accordion. Overall, Irish dance is a really fun and exciting way to express yourself through dancing and showcase your cultural roots.
