Irish republicanism

Irish republicanism is about how some people in Ireland want the country to be its own independent country and not be controlled by another country. Many years ago, Ireland was part of another country called Great Britain. The people who believe in Irish republicanism think that Ireland should be its own country and not controlled by Great Britain or anyone else. They want Ireland to be a republic, which means that the people in Ireland would have control over their own government instead of someone else. Some people believe in using violence to achieve this goal, while others think that peaceful methods are better.
