Iron Age India

A long, long time ago in India, people were figuring out how to make things out of metal. One kind of metal they really liked was iron. They called this time the "Iron Age."

People during the Iron Age learned how to get iron from rocks and turn it into really useful things like tools and weapons. They did this by heating the iron really hot until it turned into liquid, and then pouring it into molds to make different shapes.

During the Iron Age in India, there were a lot of different groups of people living in different parts of the country. Some of these groups were big and powerful, like the Mauryan Empire, while others were smaller and not as well known.

People during the Iron Age also built big, fancy buildings called "stupas" to honor important leaders and religious figures. These stupas were like big towers made out of stone and had really intricate carvings on them.

Overall, the Iron Age in India was a really important time because people learned how to make new things and built many great structures, which helped shape the country's history and culture.
