Iron meteorite

An iron meteorite is a type of rock made out of iron and other metals that comes from outer space. It's sometimes called a "shooting star" because it looks like a star shooting across the night sky. Iron meteorites often land on the ground when they enter Earth's atmosphere. Scientists can usually tell if a rock is an iron meteorite because it is very heavy and it often has unusual shapes.
