Isotropic coordinates

Isotropic coordinates are coordinates that can be used describe the same point, regardless of which direction you are looking at it from. Imagine your living room - it looks the same from each window or doorway. Every angle you see would have the same coordinates, so that the room has isotropic coordinates.
