Isra and Mi'raj
Isra and Mi'raj are two special events that happened to Prophet Muhammad. Isra happened first. It was when the Angel Gabriel took Prophet Muhammad from the city of Mecca to Jerusalem in one night. This trip was called Isra and it was a miracle that he made this journey so quickly.
Mi’raj was the second part of this amazing story. After Prophet Muhammad got to Jerusalem, he climbed a ladder called “the ladder of Isra” and rose to the Heavens. During this incredible journey, Muhammad met many prophets and angels and even spoke to God.
These two events, Isra and Mi'raj, are very important to Muslims because they show the power and mercy of God and serve as a reminder of the many blessings God has given us.
