Ok kiddo, so there is a way of making decisions called "istihsan" in Islamic jurisprudence. Basically, it means that sometimes, instead of just following the rules that were made a long time ago, we should use common sense and make decisions that are fair and sensible for today.
Imagine you're playing a game with your friends and there are rules you have to follow. But then something happens that the rules don't cover, like someone accidentally drops the ball outside of the playing area. Instead of just stopping the game or arguing about what to do, you can use istihsan to decide what's the fairest thing to do. Maybe you all agree to pause the game while someone goes to get the ball and then resume playing from where you left off.
So, in Islamic law, the same thing can happen. Sometimes the old rules don't apply or don't make sense anymore, and we need to use our brains and hearts to make new rules that are better for everyone. This is called istihsan, and it helps keep Islamic law relevant and helpful for people today.
