Italian East Africa was a place in Africa where Italy used to have power a very long time ago. It was made up of three countries: Eritrea, Ethiopia, and Somalia. Italy wanted to have control over these places because they thought it would help them be more powerful and have more things that they wanted. So they sent soldiers to take over these places and made them part of Italy.
However, the people who already lived in these places didn't like being controlled by Italy. They wanted to have their own independence and be in charge of their own country. So they fought against the Italian soldiers to try and get their freedom.
Eventually, Italy lost control of these countries and they became independent again. Today, Eritrea, Ethiopia, and Somalia are each their own country with their own leaders and governments. But they still remember the time when Italy tried to take control of them and made them part of Italian East Africa.
