Okay kiddo, let me tell you a story about Italy and Ethiopia.
Once upon a time, a long time ago, Italy wanted to have a big empire where they would be in charge of many countries and people. One of the countries they wanted to add to their empire was Ethiopia, which is a country in Africa.
But Ethiopia didn't want to be part of Italy's empire. Ethiopia had their own ruler called Emperor Haile Selassie, and they wanted to keep their independence.
So Italy decided to invade Ethiopia in 1935. This means they sent their soldiers to Ethiopia to take control of the country by force.
The Ethiopian soldiers fought back, but Italy had more soldiers and better weapons. Eventually, Italy won the war and declared Ethiopia an Italian colony, which means they were in charge of the country.
But even though Italy was in charge, the Ethiopian people didn't like being ruled by someone else. They wanted their independence back.
So when World War II started in 1939, Ethiopia joined forces with the Allies which included the United States, United Kingdom, and other countries that were fighting against Italy and its allies.
Eventually, the Allies defeated Italy and took back control of Ethiopia.
Today, Italy and Ethiopia are two separate countries, and Ethiopia is independent and free to make its own decisions without anyone else telling them what to do.
