Italian neorealism

Italian Neorealism is a type of film-making that was popular in Italy in the 1940s. It was a reaction to traditional films, which often featured elaborate settings and melodramatic storylines. Instead, Neorealist films focused on everyday life and the struggles of ordinary people. Many of these films were set in poorer neighborhoods, with non-professional actors, and used real locations instead of movie sets. Typical topics included poverty, social injustice, moral ambiguity, and even violence. The goal of Neorealism was to show the world that even in its darkest moments, beauty and hope can be found.
