Izba

An izba is a type of house that is commonly found in Russia. It is usually made of wood and has a distinctive shape that makes it easy to recognize. The roof is steeply sloped and is designed to shed snow, while the walls and roof are often covered in shingles made of wood or other materials.

Inside the izba, there are usually one or two rooms, each with a wood-burning stove for heating and cooking. It may also have a traditional Russian oven called a "pechka" that is built into the wall and used for baking bread and other foods.

People who live in an izba usually grow their own food and keep livestock, such as chickens or goats. They may also make their own clothes and other household items.

In the past, izbas were very common in rural areas of Russia, and many people still choose to live in them today because they are affordable and provide a connection to traditional Russian culture.
