ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Izzat (honour)

Izzat (honour) is when someone has a special feeling of respect and pride for something they did or for someone they know. Just like how you feel happy and proud when you do something good and someone says "good job", people feel happy and proud when they have izzat.

It's like when you help someone with their work and they say "thank you, you are so helpful", you will feel happy and proud of yourself. Similarly, when someone does something great that people admire, they receive izzat. It could be for something they accomplished, or for their good behavior and character.

Izzat is important because it makes people feel valued and respected by their loved ones and their community. It's like having a gold star on your homework or getting a trophy for winning a game.

However, sometimes people can lose their izzat if they do something bad or wrong that goes against what people expect from them. For example, if someone lies or cheats, they may lose their izzat because people will no longer respect them or feel proud of them.

So it's important to always be good and do good things so that people will give you izzat and treat you with respect and pride.
