Jack (flag)

Have you ever seen a flag with a picture or symbol on it that represents a country or group of people? Well, sometimes there is a special name for that symbol and it's called a jack. The jack is usually a smaller version of the bigger flag and it's usually flown on a special pole or rope called a jack staff. This is often done on boats or ships to show where they come from or what country they represent. So, just think of the jack as a smaller, special version of the bigger flag that helps others know more about where you're from or what you stand for.
