Jameed

Jameed is a special type of food that people in Jordan and other parts of the Middle East like to eat. It's made from something called goat's milk, which is a type of milk that comes from goats (kind of like cow's milk, but from a different animal).

To make jameed, people start by heating up the goat's milk and then adding a special type of bacteria called lactic acid. This bacteria helps to turn the milk into something like yogurt or cheese, which is called curds.

Next, the curds are separated from the whey (which is the liquid part of the milk) and are packed into large bags made of cloth. The bags are then hung up somewhere warm and left to dry for a few days.

Once the curds have dried out enough, they are ground up into a fine powder. This powder is what is called jameed, and it can be stored for a long time without going bad.

When people want to eat jameed, they usually make a special dish called mansaf. To make mansaf, they take pieces of lamb (which is a type of meat from a young sheep) and cook it with jameed and some spices until everything is nice and creamy. Then they serve it on a big platter with a bed of rice and some special sauces and garnishes.

In short, jameed is a type of food made from goat's milk that is dried and ground up into a powder. People in the Middle East use it to make a yummy dish called mansaf.
