Okay kiddo, let's talk about Japanese Brazilians! So, a long time ago, Japan and Brazil signed a treaty that allowed Japanese people to move to Brazil to work on farms. This happened in the early 1900s.
These Japanese people brought their culture, language and traditions to Brazil, but they also had to adapt to the Brazilian way of life. For example, they had to learn Portuguese, the language people speak in Brazil, so they could communicate with others.
Over time, the Japanese Brazilians became an important part of Brazilian society, bringing their unique blend of Japanese and Brazilian cultures. They celebrate both Japanese and Brazilian holidays, eat food from both cultures, and have even developed their own special type of music called "samba do nikkei" which combines traditional Brazilian samba with Japanese instruments like the taiko drum.
Today, there are over one million Japanese Brazilians living in Brazil. They have even created their own Japanese-Brazilian community which continues to thrive and grow. So, that's a little bit about Japanese Brazilians!
