Japanese martial arts

Japanese martial arts are different ways that people from Japan use to defend themselves or attack others. Just like how you may know how to punch or kick someone, there are many different martial arts that Japanese people can learn.

One of the most popular Japanese martial arts is called Karate. Karate uses punches and kicks, and even some throws and joint locks, to stop someone from hurting them. People who learn Karate also learn about respect, discipline, and honor.

Another popular Japanese martial art is Judo. Judo is all about throwing someone to the ground and then pinning them so they can't move. It's like playing a very safe and controlled game of "tag" with someone. Learning Judo helps people to build their confidence, balance, and coordination.

Some other Japanese martial arts include Kendo (which is like sword fighting), Aikido (which is about using an attacker's energy against them), and Sumo wrestling (which people might know as a really big guys trying to push each other out of a circle).

Japanese martial arts are more than just learning how to fight. They also teach people about discipline, respect, and how to focus their minds. They are fun and engaging ways to develop physical fitness and mental strength.
