ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Jedi census phenomenon

Okay kiddo, so you know how there are these really cool people called Jedi from the Star Wars movies, right? Well, some grown-up people thought it would be fun to ask other people if they were Jedi too. They did this by creating something called a census, which is like a big list of all the people in a certain area.

So, they asked people to write down "Jedi" as their religion on the census form. And guess what? A lot of people did! Some people even wrote "Sith" or "Padawan" which are also from the Star Wars movies.

But, these grown-ups who made the census didn't really think people would take it so seriously. They were just doing it for fun. And some people got a little upset because they thought it wasn't serious and people were just making fun of religion.

So, while it was a fun thing to do, it's important to remember that religion is something that people take very seriously, and it's not just for fun like pretending to be a Jedi or a Sith. Does that make sense, kiddo?
