Jeepney

A jeepney is like a big colourful bus that you can find on the roads in the Philippines. It is a special kind of public transportation that is made from an old military jeep that has been extended and turned into a big passenger-carrying vehicle.

These jeepneys are often brightly decorated with colorful designs and have all sorts of things hanging off them like tassels or decorations. People ride in the back of the jeepney, sitting on benches that face each other. They are very popular because they can go to many different places and are much cheaper than taking a taxi or private car.

Jeepneys often have a driver and a conductor who collects the payment from the passengers. Passengers may sit very close to each other, and jeepneys can get crowded at times.

It's a fun way to travel, but you have to be careful when getting on and off of them because they do not have doors like regular buses. Also, it is important to always wear a seatbelt and hold on tight while riding.
