Jessie Weston (scholar)
Jessie Weston was a really smart lady who studied a long time ago. She loved learning about stories and myths from a long time ago, especially ones we call "Arthurian legends". These are tales about a famous king named Arthur and his adventures.
She read lots and lots of books about these stories and tried to figure out what they really meant. She wanted to understand how these stories came to be and what inspired people to write them.
Jessie Weston was really good at understanding the different cultures and beliefs of the people who told these stories. She noticed that many of the things they believed in and wrote about were very different from what we believe and do today.
