ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Jesus Seminar

The Jesus Seminar is a group of researchers and theologians who wanted to figure out what Jesus said and did during his life. They read the Bible and other ancient writings that had information about Jesus and then used a voting system to decide if the things Jesus said in those writings were true or not. For example, if someone wrote that Jesus said, "Love your neighbor," the group would write down whether or not they thought Jesus really said it. From all their votes, they could tell what Jesus most likely said and did, and we call this the Jesus Seminar.
