ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Jewish-American princess

Okay, so imagine you have a friend named Sarah who loves to wear fancy clothes and jewelry, and always wants nice things. People might call Sarah a “princess” because she acts like she deserves to be treated like royalty.

Now, imagine that Sarah is also Jewish and American. Some people might call her a “Jewish-American Princess” (or JAP for short) because they think she acts entitled and spoiled. This term can be hurtful and offensive because it makes assumptions about Jewish people, especially Jewish women, that may not be true.

It’s important to remember that everyone is different, and just because someone likes nice things doesn’t mean they are a princess or entitled. We should always treat people with kindness and respect, no matter what their background or interests are.
