Jim O'Neill, Baron O'Neill of Gatley, was an economist and the former chairman of the investment bank Goldman Sachs. He was famous for coming up with an idea called the BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India, and China), which are countries that have the potential to become major economic powers in the future. He also coined the term "BRICs economics," which is a way of studying economic growth in countries with large populations and expanding economies.
