Jipitecas were a group of people in the 1960s and 1970s in Mexico City who liked to listen to rock music and other countercultural things. They were part of a larger movement called the "jipi" (hippie) movement, which was all about being free and doing things differently than the mainstream. Jipitecas liked to wear colorful clothes, grow long hair and beards, and go to concerts and festivals. They also liked to smoke marijuana and other drugs, which was not really allowed at the time. Some people didn't like the jipitecas because they thought they were too different and didn't fit in with the rest of Mexican society. But the jipitecas didn't care and kept doing their own thing. Today, some people still like to call themselves jipitecas and keep the spirit of the 1960s and 1970s alive.
