Julius and Ethel Rosenberg

Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were an American couple who were convicted of spying for the Soviet Union during the Cold War. They were arrested in 1950 and put on trial in 1951. In 1953, they were found guilty of conspiracy to commit espionage, and sentenced to death. Their trial and execution caused a lot of controversy, as some people argued that the evidence against them was weak, and that other people who were involved in the same activities were given much lighter punishments. To this day, some think that the Rosenbergs were innocent and wrongly convicted.
