Jury strut

A jury strut is a small metal support beam that helps hold up the hood of a car. Think of it like a little helper that helps keep the hood from falling down on your head when you're looking at the engine. It's called a "jury" strut because it helps support the weight of the hood like a "jury" (a group of people who help make a decision in a court case). So, just like a group of people can help support a decision, a jury strut helps support the hood of a car.
