ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Jus gentium

Jus Gentium means "law of the nations" and refers to the laws and rules that are considered fair and acceptable by all the people in different countries. For example, if you are traveling to a different country, there are some laws that apply to you even though you come from a different country. These laws are called jus gentium. It means that everyone has to follow these laws to make sure that there is peace and order in the world. It is like a set of rules that everyone agrees to follow even if they have different laws in their own countries. Think of it like a club that you join- everyone who joins the club agrees to follow the same rules to make sure that everyone has fun and no one gets hurt.
