Jus post bellum

Okay, sweetie, sometimes people have big disagreements that cause them to fight with each other. After the fighting stops and one side wins, they have to figure out how to live together again. This is where jus post bellum comes in. It means "justice after war." It's like two kids playing and one of them takes a toy from the other. When they stop playing, they need to figure out how to share the toys again fairly. That's what jus post bellum does after a war. It helps make sure everyone is treated fairly, the fighting stops for good, and everyone can live together in peace.
