ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Jus tractatuum

Jus tractatuum means "the law of treaties" in Latin. Treaties are like promises between countries. Just like when you make a promise to your friend, you have to keep it or there will be consequences. When countries make promises to each other, they also have to keep those promises or they could get in trouble.

Jus tractatuum is important because it helps countries know how to make and keep promises to each other. It explains what they have to do to make a treaty official and what they have to do to change it. It also explains what happens if one country doesn't keep their promise or breaks the treaty.

So, jus tractatuum is like the rules of how countries can make promises to each other and what happens if they don't keep those promises.
