Kalduny are like little pillows filled with yummy stuff!
They are a traditional dish from a country called Belarus, but you can find them in other countries too. They are like little dough balls that are usually filled with meat, potatoes, mushrooms and onions. You can also put other things inside like cheese or veggies.
First, you make the dough by mixing flour, water, and sometimes an egg. Then, you roll out the dough and use a cup or a cookie cutter to make little circles.
Next, you put some of the filling in the center of each circle and fold the dough over, like a taco. You pinch the edges together so nothing falls out.
After that, you boil the kalduny in salty water for about 10-15 minutes until they are cooked through. The dough gets soft and chewy and the filling gets hot and delicious!
People eat kalduny as a main dish with sour cream or a sauce drizzled on top. Some people even eat them for breakfast with tea or coffee. They are a yummy and filling food that is enjoyed by many people!
