Kandahar Bilingual Rock Inscription
Okay, so a long time ago, in a place called Kandahar, which is far away from here, some people wrote some words on a big rock. The rock was special because it had two different languages written on it, which is called "bilingual."
One language was called Greek, and the other language was called Aramaic. They wrote the same thing in both languages, kind of like when you learn new words in English and then try to write them in Spanish too.
The words they wrote were important because they talked about a powerful king who ruled over a big empire a very long time ago. The king's name was Ashoka, and he was very famous for being a kind and wise leader who treated all of his people fairly.
Even though the rock with the writing on it is really old, it's still around today! People take care of it and study it so they can learn more about history and what life was like a long time ago.
