Karuta (Japanese armour)

Karuta is like a special outfit that a Japanese fighter would wear long ago. It was made up of small pieces of armor that looked kind of like cards. These little armor pieces were called "karuta" in Japanese, which is how the outfit got its name.

The karuta armor was made to protect the fighter, kind of like a shield. Each little piece was made of a special type of metal or leather that was really hard and tough, so it could stop swords or arrows from hurting the person wearing it.

The pieces of karuta armor were tied together with special ropes made of silk or leather so they would fit snugly around the fighter's body. It was important that the karuta armor fit just right, because if it was too loose or too tight, it wouldn't protect the fighter as well.

Karuta armor was often worn during battles or important events where there might be fighting. It looked really cool and helped make the fighter feel strong and brave. Today, some people still wear karuta armor for special events or to practice martial arts.
