Katechon

Katechon is a term from the Bible that describes something that holds back something bad from happening. It usually refers to God's power being used to hold back evil forces that try to cause chaos and destruction. For example, if a giant monster were trying to destroy a city, a katechon would be like a big wall around the city that keeps the monster out. The wall is a symbol of God's power keeping the bad thing away.
